Uppal Gandhi has received his basic medical training from M.G.M medical college, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. He did his DNB ophthalmology from M.M. Joshi Eye institute, Hubli, Karnataka. He then went on to do a fellowship in Pediatric ophthalmology, Strabismus & Neuro-ophthalmology at LVPEI Hyderabad. His areas of interest include simple and complex squint and neuro-ophthalmology disorders. He is also interested in clinical research in these fields.
