Dr Farhan’s illustrious career started with securing Gold medal in the final year MBBS in 1995. After securing MD in Pediatrics he is working in the Rainbow team right from the year of inception of Rainbow children’s Hospital. He worked passionately in both Neonatal and Pediatric Critical Care and was one of the key members in setting up advanced Pediatric and Neonatal transport facility. The existing modern, state of the art ambulances were designed and conceptualized by him. He is presently working as Consultant Pediatric Intensivist in the busy pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at Rainbow Hospitals, Banjara Hills. This ICU is a major referral centre in the state of Andhra Pradesh and takes care of very sick children with complex diseases. Dr. Farhan was actively involved in the establishment and functioning of DNB and Fellowship teaching programs. Presently he takes care of Pediatric Critical Care teaching and helps Dr. Ujjwala in managing the academic activities of DNB Pediatrics.He is the NABH Assessor for Quality in Health Care. He is the chairperson of the core committee, which takes care of Quality and Accreditation across all the centres of Rainbow Hospitals.He has lot of research work to his credit in the field of ARDS in children and High Frequency Ventilation.His passion in the field of audio-visuals prompted him to make India’s first indigenous movie on Basic Life Support (BLS). This movie is now used for training in BLS, for thousands of medical and paramedical personnel across India. The movie is also used in the PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) courses across the country.
