Dr. Venkatalakshmi is a full time consultant Neonatologist at Rainbow Children's Hospital.She did her undergraduation and DCH from Christian Medical College, Vellore.She was awarded serveral merit certificates and is also the winner of Sommerville Prize in Surgery, Captain Jai Singh Jadhav prize for best post graduate student and best sports woman of the college.She did her MD Pediatrics from Egmore Children's Hospital, Madras.Dr. Lakshmi did her neonatology training for two years at Westmead Hospital, Sydney, Australia and Fellowship in Neonatology at St. Louis Children's Hospital, Washington University, St. Louis.After returning to India she joined Rainbow Children's Hosptial since its inception.After returning to India she joined Rainbow Children's Hosptial since its inception.She has successfully treated many preterm babies and has attended to many complicated neonatal problems.Her areas of interest include extreme prematurity.
